Since I started @mbd I have been writing non-stop. Journaling, goals, memos for friends and investors, takes on slack/blogs, research overviews, code snippets... It is super important as we are a remote company (enables async) but also because if you don't write it down the quality of the conversation is just not there. This is something I picked up at AWS where every meeting starts with 15-20 minutes of silence where we all read the memos (no "weasle words"). If no doc, meeting canceled. This only works if the quality of the input is there: listening to people in meetings, listening to the right podcasts, reading the right stuff at the right time...
