Misophonia, which means “hatred of sound” in Greek, is more than just a feeling of annoyance—it hijacks the nervous system, making common sounds like chewing or slurping unbearable for the listener. Why does this happen, and is there a way to treat it? 🔗

Turns out I don’t hate people — just the way they eat soup. Science calls it misophonia. I call it Tuesday dinner.
