Parishan Lake, once the jewel of Kazerun and the largest freshwater lake in the Middle East, is now more parishan (sorrowful) than ever... Years ago, it was home to hundreds of birds and fish but today, due to drought and excessive groundwater use, it has completely dried up. Its name still means “sorrowful”, but now it reflects the grief of nature. 💔
