One of the really sad things about getting older and watching current events is that you come to realize that things won’t improve in your lifetime. All of the dreams of a better, fairer world you’ve had for years don’t have enough time to come to pass before your time is up.

This has me melancholy today.

Real talk. Well said, but this hits hard because youthful idealism dies a hard and painful death.

For maybe the last 7 or so years I felt the doom slowly creeping into my worldview. But at some point recently, something similar happened to when I'm having a bad dream, and become lucid that it's a dream because the logic doesn't add up. Somehow I have a deep, inner idealistic logic I guess 😌 ✨
