We say farewell to the Exumas today, blessed to have passed through these magical azure waters and their endless shades of blue twice in the past twelve months. The last six weeks, in particular, we have been blessed with amazing company—boat friends from around the world whom we have had the pleasure of sailing with, as well as friends flying in from Australia and Canada to spend some time with us. Nothing is forever, and the winds of life take us all on different journeys. It has been a bittersweet few weeks, as we’ve had to say goodbye to some amazing friends from around the world—friends we’ve been sailing with for quite some time.

Priorities for my personal site: 1. I can write and publish directly from Obsidian 2. I can preview the site offline 3. I can switch hosts easily, all the data is in my control For a personal site I find that CMSes like Wordpress, Squarespace, and Webflow, add too much complexity and liability, while being less customizable. Friction has to be super low, otherwise I won't update it. Instead learn to use a static site generator. There are many options: Jekyll, Hugo, Quartz, Astro, Eleventy, etc. It's become simple to build and deploy them. Once you have it set up, everything else is a breeze. I never used any social media apps (insta, twitter etc) before. Didn't really feel the connection to it. When I got to know about Farcaster I was hooked. I actually wanted to go deeper into the Web3 communities & it seemed like the best thing to do. Now, I use /firstdraft to stay accountable with my writing practice and different channels/people to stay up-to-date in the cryptoverse. But I think the main reason is authenticity. Web2 social Media is full of fake & un-realness. On farcaster the vibe is different, people are much more open, vulnerable, transparent & real!
