Tether's CEO Paolo Ardoino shared that the company has around $8 billion in gold stored in a Swiss vault. He called it "the most secure vault in the world" and said Tether owns nearly all of the 80-ton stockpile. This puts the El Salvador-based firm among major gold holders. The value matches UBS's gold exposure.
