City Sound Collection is an audio safari that captures each neighborhood’s unique character through sound. Here is how it works: 1. Field Recordings * Participants record 3 to 5 short clips around their city, such as a street vendor’s call, the ding of an old house doorbell, a distinctive minibus horn or vintage motorbike rumble, or rain dripping on pavement or waves lapping at a riverbank * Each clip lasts 3 to 10 seconds and can be captured on a phone or portable recorder 2. Minting the Rough Draft Loop * A selection of community clips (for example, horn, rain and vendor) is spliced into a 20-second audio loop * That loop is minted as an open-edition NFT called “Rough Draft” at an accessible price so everyone can join in
