Selfhosting a lot of stuff like calendars, contacts, Git, etc. instead of using cloud services is nice.

Except sometimes it breaks. Over time, everything breaks.
And then sometimes you realize you skipped testing the recovery scenario just for this specific part.
Aaargh.

Pffft, and today I've just got a reminder why I selfhost so much stuff.
(Apart from the habits from the old times where I had my own hosting provider)

Well, if somebody wants to distract or slow you down, one thing they can do is to write various fake abuse/ToS violation reports to the services you use and hope they won't bother to verify the claims and suspend your accounts at least temporarily.

If you're lucky then you'll receive an email, but usually you're just greeted with "invalid password" or even "no account for such address" because ofc testing these scenarios is far from being a priority.

Fun times! (Some) people are strange.
Oh yes and I had successfully fixed the bug I ran into in the previous post :)
