I want to agree with you. That being said what happened in the past days is by definition political speech, even if it sounds very childish. 

Comments based on personal ethics, like those shared by Prof. Galloway, may reinforce the beliefs of some Democrats, but they’re a real turn-off for at least half of the U.S. population. I don't think it helps bridging the gap between the two sides to be honest.
