Close-up of Kimono Forest public streetart in Kyoto 👘💜 You can see the exquisite detail in each piece. Walking among them is a transcendental experience ✨

Wow!! Haven’t seen that spot when I was there. Is it “only” city commissioned art or also traditional street art? In my souvenirs, even a sticker can get you in big troubles over there 😅

I believe it is public art commissioned by the Randen railway company for its station there. So yeah I don’t think they would want people placing stickers on this but on the other hand when commissioned public art is this good and they support artists, I wish there was 100x more of this in the world and then of course there should be room for 100x more stickers too, more art everywhere!

I absolutely agree with you! Every time I see a naked block of concrete, I wish it was full of art—whether commissioned or not! After all, the world is a work of art! I only remember of one cool spot full of stickers in Tokyo—it was on a bridge for ppl to walk above the street nearby the beginning of Shibuya (when walking from Meiji-jingū) I think it is the first spot I did something that somehow felt like street art—and that being in Japan, I was scared as sh— while sticking that sticker haha
