July's read is Calvino's "Complete Cosmicomics" 

they're fables about the before and beginning of the universe, narrated by a being named Qfwfq

it's superb, super creative

i'd highly recommend any of his stuff, but if you want somewhere to start with him i'd recommend "Invisible Cities"

it's a light and fast read, but really magestic - it's Marco Polo explaining distant cities to Kublai Khan (or is he?)
