Why is it so expensive to bridge to Base? Anything on the roadmap to decrease the cost? (I only have $40 in ETH in a wallet but a bunch of USDC but I can't move it to Base because it costs $67.)

But yeah tl;dr L1 is expensive and you are also “buying” the L2 gas for your tx by burning on L1, and this has its own 1559 market. There’s a lot that can be improved. For now CB retail is the most cost effective bridge.
