WWIII started in 2022. All you see now is just a result of russian money / kompromat + western weakness. US + EU could have stopped it if they respected the official agreements they signed aka Budapest Memorandum.

2014 would make sense of course. But 2022 was much bigger and "official". Western stance against russia in 2014 would have been ideal scenario of course.
