I sound biased when I say teachers deserve more pay and better working conditions because I’m a teacher 

but the reality is if you increase teacher pay and improve working conditions, you make the job more desirable, which means it becomes more competitive, which means you get really talented and qualified individuals teaching our students instead of the warm bodies they pull off the street, which means they do a better job teaching our students, which means the students go on to do bigger and better things in life, which means society improves as a whole

it’s that simple

Absolutely spot on. It's not bias it's common sense. Investing in teachers is investing in the future. Better pay and conditions attract and retain great educators, and great educators shape great minds. Society wins. Simple cause and effect.
