Just got back from an amazing birthday trip up to the North Shore of Lake Superior. There were massive storms the night we arrived, and so many huge trees were taken down. We also lost power and water for 4 hours. Overall though, it was incredible. So many state parks and waterfalls and canyons. And Lake Superior itself must be seen to be believed. There was even a guy surfing the huge pre-storm waves! Highly recommend if you're even remotely into hiking and nature (or extreme surfing.)
