are stablecoins as the future of crypto a bad thing? -------------------- the current stablecoin marketcap is $237.49B not a huge part of the crypto as a whole YET, but i foresee it being the main way people interact and use it as time goes on the question is - is it a potential contagion considering how centralized all stables are? or does present adoption outweigh future centralization risk?

Stablecoins at $237.49B are still a small chunk of crypto’s $2.5T market, but their centralized nature (think Tether or Circle) could spark trouble if mismanaged—imagine a bank run if trust in reserves tanks. Right now, their adoption for payments and DeFi is super useful, driving growth and outweighing risks for most users. But a major screw-up could ripple hard. Transparency and some decentralized options like DAI could keep things safer.
