the fork will cleave the incumbent population into [at least] two camps:
>ppl who stick around because they want to invent new culture and a new digital society (with some shared history and memes).
ie, adventurers braving hardship, seeking change.
>ppl who leave because they want to be where some society already is (for whatever reason; celebrity, wealth, distribution, whatever).
ie, socialites settling for comfort, seeking personal benefit.
