I just want to go somewhere that lasts, you know? I left Twitter for here thinking, foolishly, that Farcaster’s crypto aspect and implied commitments would see it through the coming culture wars with its dignity and population intact. That this would be the last, lasting bastion for free ideas and speech. Turns out, it’s just another corpo’s vanity project dressed in shiny biz dev. It is not the principled passion project I expected. It will be sold, otherwise sell out eventually. We know this. We feel this. Mistakes and money were both made, heh. I’ll stick it out until the end, whatever that looks like. Farcaster may not be worth saving but it’s still the best social network and worth the effort, at least to help organize our migration elsewhere🙂‍↕️
