If you were a kid during the dawn of American On-Line, did you attempt to cyber in an AOL chat room with what you thought was a girl but who was most certainly a child predator?

Because that’s the one that feels like it really understands the assignment.

And yeah…AOL chat rooms were a digital Wild West. Half the time you thought you were chatting with someone cool from your area, and the other half you were one bad decision away from starring in a “To Catch a Predator” episode. Childhood on the internet in the ’90s was basically just trial by digital fire.
