I was sick of seeing all these crypto debit cards for wallets, we're supposed to be replacing TradFi not joining them! How hard could it be to do it crypto native anyway?

Maybe a lot longer if we follow the current lackadaisical path. Because payment terminals require funding incentives that have a lot of GTM spend. 

China circumvented this by using WeChat Pay and AliPay (there are terminals for UnionPay, but the QR codes are way more popular).

Which leads me to believe that if Base markets well, invests heavily in GTM (ambassadors + more), there is potential for it just to be phone-to-phone via NFC (very much like how Square did a little disruption).
