just spent 7 hours on teams and am toast. there would have been no other way to do technical interviews with teams in the middle east, africa, and latin america on the same day but this is really not how humans were designed to meet.

it's surprising how good it is already — i think multiple multi-hour meetings even in person are hard, and making it remote is even harder.

yea, ambient presence video with people you know well can be really good or at least not draining

but if most people on the call don't know each other and if you're running the call and have to be on video ...

y'know, you make me think that virtual could be  e a s i e r  than in person in fact in some key ways, like can get up and move around, close your eyes to listen carefully and not look weird -- oh am assuming no video which is my preferred by a country mile and bet yours were all on camera?
