If you ever doubt American cultural hegemony, just remember: the entire English-speaking internet is currently live-commenting a New York City mayoral primary like it’s the moon landing.

Call me the logic police but:

1. The actual point made here is that America has cultural hegemony over the English-speaking Internet. (kinda obvious)

2. A more useful point could be made if "the entire non-English speaking Internet was live-commenting..." -but my guess is that it doesn't stand.

3. Wrong reasoning does not mean that the conclusion is not valid.
