Apple Intelligence + Social Media thought: Do you think that "the algorithm" will move from the server to the edges? Does an open network like Farcaster have an advantage in this direction? What would it take for a native iOS client to leverage it?

I love this line of thinking. Especially being able to plug in your own algo to be sure it’s acting in your interests At the very least farcaster enables experimentation around this because of the open data Bluesky has actually opened the “feeds” layer. Could be a good starting point https://docs.bsky.app/docs/starter-templates/custom-feeds

I think it's more than selecting your algo (which I don't think it will happen, not widely). But: 1. Onboarding new users. Your device knows you and it can show you a feed that's interesting to you. You have a kid, you chat about XYZ with your friends, you keep reading articles about ABC, you are subscribed to these podcasts, and so on. 2. Factoring-in real-time personal data. You are now on a trip, casts about your current location should surface in your feed. Facebook has been doing this for years, and they have invested billions in infra, and they own the users. But now, everyone may be able to do it in their garage. :-)
