Hey-hey my dear friends 🤗
Running to congratulate our teachers on the upcoming International Women’s Day 🌷
As the head of the parents’ committee, it’s a responsible mission 😊
We have a lovely tradition of congratulating all women on this day. Moms, grandmothers, teachers, colleagues. Everyone without exception. Even little girls 🌸
I love these pre-holiday days. When everyone is a little busy, tulips are being sold everywhere, men are running around looking for bouquets 💐 and the whole city slowly fills with a real spring mood 🥰😍
I have always felt very tender about this holiday since childhood. Because it appeared thanks to women who once began fighting for equal rights and for women’s voices to be heard.
A small historical note:
The idea of International Women’s Day was proposed by Clara Zetkin in 1910 at a women’s conference in Copenhagen. The idea was supported by other activists as well, including Rosa Luxemburg.
Not so long ago women were seriously limited in their rights. And even today in some countries this still continues. But in many parts of the world women now have a voice and opportunities that were once impossible.
And for me that is the true meaning of this day 💝
