Got Arch installed and working on an old laptop. Definitely a challenge: the official instructions left me completely lost re how to install grub. But GPT handholding helped, and I'm impressed and found the experience surprisingly educational!

I’m glad you told us about it, that’s the most important part of the Arch experience 😉

Did you manually setup hard drive encryption too? That part is fun. I think I've gone through the arch installation process five times in the past six years. The documentation has always changed, usually due to new recommendations, just enough for me to get tripped up somewhere

yesser... Arch is amazing and the best way to learn the weeds of the OS, especially with the old-school 100% manual instal.. I learned the hard way coming from Win/ubuntu tho.. love seeing you using Arch.. btw which WM did you go for?

another way you might want to check out is https://larbs.xyz/ which is an efficient shell script that will install a fully-featured tiling window manager-based system on any Arch or Artix Linux-based system.
