Manual Input Sessions (2004, by Golan Levin and Zachary Lieberman) https://www.flong.com/archive/projects/mis/index.html "series of audiovisual vignettes which probe the expressive possibilities of hand gestures and finger movements. Our concert is performed on a combination of custom interactive software, analog overhead projectors and digital computer video projectors. "

Classic. I use this as an example talking about digital art - using overhead projectors makes this look low-tech and corny, but Golan and Zach had to hack up a finger tracking computer vision algo to get the gestures to work. That's way more complicated than most fxhash projects... š 100 $DEGEN

Yee, and specially in 2004 ! Nowadays with MediaPipe/ml5/ leap motion it is really easy. . I saw them performing live at OFFF (maybe 2006 or 2007), but I cannot remember if it was this performance or other one

I think it was this one, also if it was 2006 I was there, too. We did a big Processing workshop at Hangar?

It was something, a special convergence. Not sure that I understood it at the time, though. Ben, Golan, Casey (left), me (right). We were so young! With hair! https://www.flickr.com/photos/watz/albums/72057594130242973/
