Writing a good article takes time. But what happens to it once it’s published? One of the things we’re exploring with Caset* is giving that content a second life: turning it into audio, so its author can share it that way too or add it to their website. Lately at @floc we’ve also been talking a lot about sound and voice, and what they can bring to a brand that already has valuable things to say. A brand decides how it looks, but also how it sounds: the tone, the pace, what stands out and what gets left out. When a text becomes audio, you can hear those decisions, and they deserve the same attention as the design or the words. Before thinking about the next article, it might be worth looking at how you’re sharing the last one. At what you sound like. At FLOC* we work on that part too: what a brand wants to say and how to get it to the people it wants to reach. If you already publish articles, have you thought about letting people listen to them too? We can explore what your brand sounds like, together. More about Caset*? https://caset.es/en

Caset* is something we're building at FLOC*, and it turns saved articles into audio, so the things we meant to read don't just sit in a browser tab forever. I find that a pretty interesting problem to work on. We save things because they catch our attention, but finding the time to actually read them is another story. @esdotge could tell the Caset* story better than I can. My part is looking at it from a strategy perspective, and thinking about what it takes to turn this product into a business. You can find it at https://caset.es and follow along at https://x.com/caset_es on Twitter (yes, Twitter! this is about nostalgia, I won't call it X 😅) One thing that particularly stands out to me is how everything connects: the cassette idea, the shelf, the tone, the technology. They all need to make sense together. That's also how we approach things at @floc. Strategy, design and technology shouldn't be separate conversations. Building a product is getting easier and faster every day, and making something people actually want to come back to is a different challenge. For me, that's where the appealing part begins. Not just getting people to try something, but understanding why they would keep using it. That's what I want to explore with Caset*: learning from how people use it, and letting the brand be part of that experience from day one. A small note if you want to give it a try: we're currently focusing on the Spanish version, so only a few cassettes are available in English for now. I'm sharing some of those in the comments. More are on the way! I'd love to hear what you think about Caset*, what you'd like to see in it, or any thoughts you might have on the wider questions around products, brands and building a business.

We start brands from a dialogue. Between what’s concrete and what’s still abstract. Between what founders can explain and what they only feel. A moment and a space where different ways of seeing the same idea can meet. There are many ways to build a brand today. We choose one driven by attention, by presence, and by people thinking together. In that exchange, a shared language begins to emerge. We put everything on the table, to understand where the project naturally belongs and what already makes it different. This is what we call Discover. The phase where understanding comes before expression. Where a brand learns who it is before deciding how it should look.
