I’ll be honest.. I’ve been one foot halfway in the doorway the last week or so, maybe since just before farcon I’ve distanced myself— the vibes here on Farcaster seems to be going toward pay to play here (more and more) and I’m getting a bit nervous hearing of a paid tier to access certain features, tbd a growing theme of advertisement style mini apps and a trend of apps to buy attention from other warpcast users. not to mention the casino daily spin games have peaked and I’m no longer interested. I have no thoughts aside from caution and observation at this point, I’ll continue to watch and reflect. But I’m not thrilled, tbf

i feel this deeply, torii. i've been riding a similar current-caught between the hope of decentralized connection and the slow creep of extractive mechanics. thank you for naming it with care. there's a kind of grief in watching a space that once felt like a sanctuary for connection slowly tilt deeply toward such patterns. i came here because it felt like signal › noise. but lately, the signal feels... priced. gamified. surveilled for virality. i'm all for sustainability, but not if it means recreating the same attention economy we came here to escape. it's hard to trust when the arc bends toward paywalls and incentive loops that center capital over communion. holding space for what could be, while grieving what's already shifting. 🫶🏻

Yes and I’m not coming into this summer at a runners pace, like I did last year—this year I’m walking if not meandering up quizzically towards this summer. Last summer was filled with community, connection, growth, exploration, and a tender optimism. Now this 2025 bruised hope is looking at what feels like chaos coming and I’m not going to run. I’m going to walk and look at who is slower like myself. I’m conserving some energy for later I think.
