Decentralization sounds like a “crypto thing” but it’s actually a massive megatrend that will affect every layer of society By solving the Byzantine General’s problem, bitcoin gifted us a roadmap for collaborating with strangers (and even enemies) Mining + incentives = a playbook for replacing centralized orgs with open networks It’s a shift from punishment to rewards A treasure map for turning companies into protocols Eventually, most of the world will work for those protocols, not people

How is it a megatrend exactly? Decentralisation is dying even in crypto, and crypto is (sadly) moving away from a more privacy-focused setting. I doubt any big idea or product will inherit the original "privacy" or "decentralisation" ideals of crypto.

At very high levels, I see decentralization everywhere: - Media shifting from centralized orgs to individuals - Open-source education - At-home medical tests and treatments - Use crypto to be your own bank - Ethereum and Solana apps as an alternative to Apple and Google appstores, etc.
