⏺How the Internet has been spreading around the world since 1989, when computer science st Tim Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web. The world's first website was launched in 1991 - then only 0.1% of the world's population was online. Today, 5.6 billion people (68% of the population) access the Internet. It seems to be a large number, but more than 2.5 billion people still manage to live without the Internet.
