Red Alert 🚨🚨🚨 [Update] A total of 8 Bitcoin wallet addresses that have been “dormant” for 14 years “wake up” and transfer 80,000 BTC ~ 8.7 billion USD Less than 12 hours after on-chain data recorded 2 wallet addresses with billions of dollars worth of Bitcoin “waking up” since their first activity in 2011, information from Lookonchain continued to report the appearance of 6 more wallets with “defrosting” behavior. According to initial determination, these 8 wallet addresses are all owned by a “Bitcoin OG” (a term for an early investor) holding at least 80,009 BTC (~8.69 billion USD) who just woke up after more than 14 years of dormancy, transferring 40,000 BTC (~4.35 billion USD) today. It is unclear whether the ultimate goal of this billion-dollar Bitcoin "whale" is to "take profit" or "push the price" of BTC, but the short-term movement of $8.69 billion in Bitcoin is creating fear for the crypto investor community in general.
