On Tuesday, we dropped a "💣 BETR BOMB", our first-ever @betrmint community airdrop — distributing over 6 billion $BETR tokens from the Community Fund, worth more than $13,000 at the time ($17,000 now!)
It’s been a few days since then, so let’s do a quick recap of how it went (by the numbers and by the vibes)… and I'll also preview some of what’s coming next.
First of all, with this drop, BETRMINT continues in the fabled Farcaster legacy forged by @noiceapp, @degentokenbase.eth, and others before us: the ever-elusive "Bullish Airdrop."
When the drop started, $BETR’s market cap was $195K.
At time of writing? $250K.
That’s a +28% post-airdrop pump.
Token price is not the most important thing, but it can be a proxy for other things going right, and Farcaster is just built different when it comes to believing in something, so I'm very thankful for that.
Let's dig into some of the numbers:
• Tokens Claimed: 5.1B / 6.14B
• Farcaster Followers: 5,400 → 6,800
• App Installs: +2,200
• Unique App Users: 4,600 → 13,000
• Monthly App Opens: 87,000
• DAU Peak: 7,300
• Daily Opens Peak: 21,000
• Trending Rank: #43 → #2
And what about the Vibes?
• I was personally #1 Trending on @inflynce (farcaster's answer to Kaito in a mini app) for two days straight for yapping about the drop.
• I also cracked Top 20 on Farcaster Rewards (for the first time ever!)
• Our “BETR Believers” early access chat (gated to 50M+ holders) grew from <75 to 100+and continues to expand quickly (also being helped greatly by the community-building efforts of our new "Chief Fun Officer" @burrrrrberry)
• Our app has been sitting at #2 on the Farcaster Trending Mini Apps Leaderboard for two days straight now
• We were also #1 on Coinbase Wallet on the day of the drop — turning “TBA” into “The BETRMINT App” for awhile.
Individual feedback about the unique Spin-to-Claim flow we designed was overwhelmingly positive. Even some people who didn't qualify for the drop casted out that they loved the aesthetic and the experience anyway. (When does that ever happen?)
Overall, I think the airdrop was a resounding success. We targeted loyal users of the app, made it extremely difficult to sybil, and we captured the zeitgeist in a really meaningful way throughout. Airdrops for mini apps are loyalty programs mixed with marketing campaigns, and I feel like this one filled up both buckets nicely.
(Plus, everyone who didn't sell saw their stack grow by 30% almost immediately, and that's always good for morale.)
Wrapping Up Season One:
This airdrop marks the end of BETRMINT Season One, during which we saw:
• Over 21,000 spins of the neon flywheel
• More than $40,000 in transaction volume
• $20K MRR across our first two months
• $13,000+ in rewards paid to our featured onchain creators
We’ve learned a lot, we've had a lot of fun — and Season Two is going to be even BETR!
Here's what’s coming down the pike:
NEONCHAIN SUMMER:
