Microsoft and OpenAI's partnership is hitting a rough patch.  
OpenAI's about to drop an open language model next week,  
breaking from its usual closed approach.  
This model's weights will be public, letting anyone deploy it,  
including other cloud providers besides Azure.  
It could widen the rift as they renegotiate their deal.
