The Public Internet is Dead. RIP. (1993-2024)

The internet which many of us knew and loved is dead and gone. Link rot, complex rerouting, ads, monetization, SEO,  spam, algorithmic fuckery, and other factors have finally killed it.

It is unusable for the most part and if you find a way to utilize it outside of the walled gardens, it is likely that whatever you build will be attacked and destroyed by bots, corporate interests, surveillance interests, or other interests that don't want you rocking their boat.

You may continue to use Amazon, Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, X,   Shopify, Etsy, eBay, Youtube, and other authorized walled gardens that are paid to serve you ads and shape your behavior. If you choose to research outside of the advertising feeds, you are authorized to use Reddit and Wikipedia.
