when did you realise that no one is coming to save you?

the harshest part of being an adult is no matter how shitty you feel - you gotta wake up, log in, show up, go to work, entertain small talk & plaster a smile on that face while all you want to is lay under a blanket.

i used to do this thing with my brother where we used to get under a blanket and treat it like a spaceship. eventually it became a signifier for being an escape from the world because in there we were together and safe and nothing could go wrong. whenever i’m gloomy i go back.
