Seeing this I will say a quote by Richard Feynman “The first principle is that, you must not fool yourself, and You’re the easiest person to fool” It just lets you know that self deceit is so easy. Sometimes we see some great people and we just undermine the amount of work they have done to get into those kind of positions. And so because we want to rationalize our passivity , our mediocrity, we just allude to the fact that they are just exceptional Because we rather be comfortable than deal with the truth. So we deny reality . So you must develop a keen sense of awareness to know all the ways you are decieving yourself because it is so easy to recieve yourself
