What’s the difference between economists and politicians? Economists are trained to question everything-they live in a world of probabilities, models, and assumptions. They say things like “it depends” or “on the one hand…” because they know the truth is rarely simple. Politicians, on the other hand, thrive on simplicity. They need clear answers, bold promises, and catchy slogans. Where economists see nuance, Politicians see opportunities to persuade. One admits uncertainty; the other hides it. One serves truth; the other sells belief. And when the economy tanks, both end up blaming each other-but only one had a chart to explain it. In short - Economists says: On one hand, on the other… Politicians says: Trust me, there’s only one hand.
