People on CT criticizing content coins likely aren’t one of 700M living on <$3 / day. The true life-changing potential of web3 is for the billions born into environments without access to economic opportunity. Web3 MUST succeed. This is my why.

The same argument was made for memecoins. As a general rule, in these types of markets, most people lose money. Same is true in sports betting, horse races, lottery, etc. If you’re talking about poor people being the ones minting content coins, sure, some will strike it big, but I assume those with a large audience already will get most of the wealth. Content coins are cool, another onchain primitive, dope. The moral argument of getting people out of poverty via bonding curve betting doesn’t feel right to me, though. Tbh, I’d love to see more explorations of tokenized content that’s _not_ based on bonding curves.

I agree, bonding curves have their issues. I'm not talking about someone launching a random memecoin or content coin hoping to make it big. I agree with you, that won't improve the lives of millions. I'm talking about Zora as a platform enabling content discovery and content coins' enabling income generation for truly talented creators who simply haven't had a platform or access to a global audience that's excited to support them financially and collect their work. Whether or not a large corporate account should have tweeted about their piece of content, and whether more ownership of the situation rests on them or the people who didn't take even 30 seconds to pause and think before aping into it, is another separate discussion imho.
