What did Hobbes mean when he said "Leisure is the mother of philosophy"? I think I'm taking it too literally.

It's a bit of a luxury, no? To have time to think and ponder the various open-ended questions of life, versus just trying to live and get by in daily life. One must have (or make) time and space to contemplate, I suppose.
