existing builder programs don’t cut it to build a community that sticks. based fellowship is our attempt at doing it better at /fbi a tight space for builders, with real guidance, real feedback. wrapped our edition 2 : 2 weeks, 29 fellows, deep in dharamshala building onchain, on @base. here’s how it actually went 🧵

2/2 it is on the basis of a more evolved engagement score, filtering spam views. But you get the drift. On the brand side, you get to run a UGC campaign with potentially thousands of creators with the same effort as running a Facebook ad campaign. As a matter of fact, smaller or what Shopify and MIT like to call them nano influencers actually convert BETTER for businesses. So it’s a win win win situation. Micro payments is one of the use cases that onchain tech is destined to make a reality and unlock unprecented use cases. Getting paid and paying for 357 high quality views is one of them. there are enough enablers in this economy if you just focus on execution instead of making excuses.

Last year, I made it a goal to hit 10k steps every day, and I barely missed any days—my yearly average ended up being around 9,899. But honestly, when I looked at the biomarkers in my health tests, I didn’t see any noticeable difference. Because of that, I’ve completely let go of the 10k goal this year. I still end up doing 7-8k steps naturally, but I’m not stressing about hitting that number anymore. I’d love to hear if you’ve seen any measurable differences in your health or biomarkers from hitting 10k steps consistently. Have you noticed anything concrete?

A year ago today, Read Write Own was released. So much has happened in crypto since then. The past year, I spent a lot of time traveling and speaking at events—some crypto-focused, some not. Even as crypto faced regulatory uncertainty in Washington and sustained criticism from mainstream media, I kept hearing something different from the people I met: passion and optimism. There was a clear gap between the narrative out there and what I was seeing on the ground. So, while I’m excited to see the tides turn with growing bipartisan and institutional support, I’m not entirely surprised. Crypto was never going away. At some point, the value of what blockchains enable—stablecoins, DeFi, AI systems, games, social experiences, and more—had to be recognized. We’re still far from the full vision I described in Read Write Own, but we’re moving forward. Huge thanks to all the founders, builders, and supporters who tuned out the noise and kept building. Onward.

Thank you so much for writing this! I’ve been using your book to build a solid foundation in the onchain world, and I love how it has something for everyone. Also, your blog was where I started before finding this book—it got me hooked! It’d be awesome if you kept writing there too.
