I barely know who this guy is this video belongs in a class on the speech and mannerisms of liars

I think he is very good at engineering his narratives whilst also appearing to wing it off the cuff 

a part of it is choosing carefully how he frames things, another part of it is choosing carefully what to/not to engage with. it’s more obvious to those of us he worked with, but at the same time likely opaque to others in his parasocial circle
