Counterpoint, but more like nitpicking because I understand the general sentiment:

Life-long relationships can be very difficult (though rewarding), and with the breakdown of social norm enforcement, sometimes the contract gets you through the tough times.

Or, another way to see it, the contract forces you to stay with someone you dont want to

My point is.. i dont need a contract or a religious practice to stay forever with someone..
If i really love someone im gonna go through the dark times with that person no matter what, i dont need a contract for that

yep, but don't want to in the moment isn't always don't want to over lifetime

I actually don't have a good beat on the benefits/drawbacks of relationship liquidity, especially after having kids. I think modern society is in uncharted territory here, especially with other community-based social structures having broken down
