๐งโโ๏ธ Web2 vs Web3: A Tale of Two Villages
(WEB3 101)
Once upon a time, there were two villages:
Centralia and Decentra.
In Centralia (Web2), everyone relied on a handful of landlords.
You needed their permission to build a house (app), open a store (profile), or even throw a party (post).
They owned the land, and your data.
One day, a builder wanted to move his shop.
The landlord said, โNo. You signed the Terms of Service.โ
The builder had no choice but to start from scratch elsewhere.
In Decentra (Web3), things were different.
Everyone owned their own land, thanks to magic scrolls (wallets) and enchanted deeds (NFTs).
Builders could create freely, users could roam with their data, and the rules were written by the people (DAOs).
Sure, Decentra was still growing. Some roads were bumpy. Some houses didnโt stand long.
But it was theirs. Transparent. Open. Permissionless.
๐ The moral?
Web2 rents you a spot
Web3 lets you own your journey.
Which village would you choose?
