When you disconnect from a "workstation" (mine pictured below) that you've been accustomed to using for a decade you find more time for life and in doing so when you come back to the internet in smaller doses on a much smaller setup (a laptop) it is definitely hard to know what space/platform to actually spend your time on. It becomes a much bigger question.
My mainframe had the best visual experience possible (a 34" OLED screen) with the best sound (studio monitors and very high grade headphones) with the best ambient lighting setup with the best input (a full size keyboard and mouse) and the best peripherals possible.
A small laptop that I use now simply cannot match this experience - you can't even run multiple windows well in this environment. It is very much like disconnecting from the soul of being terminally online.
