I've been thinking about the "invention" of music festivals recently and how they were driven by so much technological advancement post-WWII. Then it made me think about what would a world look like if music festivals developed prior to the technological advancements? Would love an alternate reality world like steampunk around this concept. Welcome to the Candescent Festival

Mardi gras even today has a position in parades called the flambeaux. Between floats, groups of men with huge torches light the way. This has been tradition before WW2. https://www.nola.com/entertainment_life/mardi_gras/flambeaux-the-history-of-mardi-gras-torch-bearers/article_5c8d58b0-bb93-11ee-b62a-b360ad215018.html

I'm talking more about the ability to generate sound. The Beatles famously couldn't even hear themselves playing on their stadium tour. While the crowd was loud, it was more because of the speaker technology at the time.
