Should we start Share Saturday? Share your experience contributing in the space. What to keep, improve, and discard. Keep: culture/vibe Improve: access Discard: buzzwords if you don't mean it For most of 2022, I did free work (~$150K worth) under the guise of "community" or a cause that I cared about. Many projects soft rugged. I learned and made friends but I was left with almost nothing to show for my work. Files were in centralized accounts (can access but can't edit because payment stopped). I didn't have a Github full of commits. LinkedIn (my past life) didn't feel like the place to add these contributions. How can we... - all be a part of building the new internet? (I'm limited by my coding skills) - collaborate, skills swap? - experiment and have a verified record of it? - own the value we create? - contribute to public goods and make a living? - get seen? etc. What if there was a place for all builders and skill levels to participate and build together, receive credit, and share in the upside?
