I would add this to 3:

Most provers use special hardware and are extremely memory hungry.
Folding scheme are the most direct way to decentralize and democratize ZKP proving — it is the best technique that we have to allow provers of any size to join and prove.

In the end, I think there will be ZERO companies left and just networks of people. Most likely they will be using memory efficient folding scheme in a collaborative setting to achieve realtime proving at scale.

didn't people predict that the real time proving is still years ahead? is it real or what' the catch here?

@zengjiajun_eth 1. This is average case, not worst case. We need real-time worst case for safe L1 use
2. Not formally verified
3. ~100 kW to prove. Proving is a 1-of-n trust model, but even still, perhaps we want proving doable at home (~10 kW)
4. We wanna 10-100x the L1 gaslimit
