in all fairness, the eurozone flirts with debt-to-gdp to a different degree (https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/products-euro-indicators/w/2-22012024-ap). it's not a negative correlation. then again, this may all be so tongue-in-cheek that the fundamentals aren't why euro v usa memes are getting resurrected on fc.

not the worst constraint to work with. fiscal hawks sometimes copy the rhetoric without the full measure. I don't think there's any panacea. ultimately, "shwarze Null" -> https://www.imf.org/en/News/Articles/2024/03/27/germanys-real-challenges-are-aging-underinvestment-and-too-much-red-tape

The working population section is, as always, blown out of proportion and inaccurate as it views Germany as an isolated country and not a member of the Schengen zone. To see Germany as a nation state makes no sense in this regard, and the working population demographic anxiety is overblown. Can just add more EU members

Also @m-j-r.eth the public infrastructure section is crazy. Come to Germany and drive a train, car or fly. Internet could be better, yes, but to say that public infrastructure is inadequate is crazy. Clearly a fragilista take of some academic and not qualitative assessment.

respectfully, sry, if I call cope on pro-usa, anti-euro talking points, I feel obligated to do the same with the opposite. "shwarze null" is a national fiscal policy that does not generalize to all adherent nations to a shared border code. "they'll just visit here beneficially" isn't sustainable.
