@keccers.eth is first person i've seen explain why more glass bottled beverages had more microplastics: the paint on the metal cap. wine glass bottles, sealed with corks, had far fewer microplastics. and when they rinsed the painted metal caps before putting it on a glass, number of microplastics dropped by 66%.

I read the study bc of the claim and „glass bottles=fewer MP“ seems like clickbait. In their samples they did find this, but I couldn‘t find them proving this to be generally applicable. They tested eg only a few hand fulls of drinks. Interesting study. I‘d love if they could pin point this more conclusively, but it seems it is an artifact of the manufacturing of the glass bottle actually
