Another option, that may be even more elegant, is this approach from Mona for Mastodon.
And island of four buttons with the compose button floating to the right.
What’s more, on scroll it’s hidden so the content is even more immersive.
Note: on mastodon I don’t use messages so I’ve swapped out a quick link to my profile in the bar (it’s fully customizable), but on Farcaster I’d put Messages and then use the profile pic at the top left to get to one’s own profile; as well as to change accounts.
